Fempress Fit has Aerial Hammocks Classes in Chicago to help you tone your body all while hanging in a hammock! Aerial Hammock Fitness, a.k.a. Aerial Yoga, is a work out that uses a swath of soft fabric that most practitioners call a “hammock.” It is suspended from the ceiling, and fully supports your body weight, while allowing your body to work against gravity, and helping you to get deeper into stretches while holding stronger poses. You’ll get a total-body workout. The hammock acts like a swing, or soft trapeze, supporting the hips for forward bends, back bends, and more.

This 60-minute class is designed to teach you how to balance, use your core and arm muscles, while staying close to the ground. This beginner class introduces new clients to aerial exercises on hammocks. The class emphasizes basic alignment, foundation, and specific muscle action, so that the body can learn how to balance on aerial hammocks with ease.

This highly effective fitness program is designed to strengthen, lengthen and tone; while creating flexibility, and flow motion in a short amount of time. It gives you the chance to hang in the hammocks freely—which allows your spine to lengthen, increase strength, and gain flexibility. While you learn the movements and poses, you will find that it helps bring you a greater awareness of your body; as it combines several different yoga asanas and exercise styles including: a series of exercises inspired by Pilates, calisthenics, and aerial acrobatics.

At the end of the class, we do a series of cool down techniques and dynamic stretches—an important part of your pole fitness regimen. You will leave feeling relaxed, lengthened, and more in tune with your body. In time you will notice long term positive effects on your posture.
